Meet Our Pillars

Ms Tan Hwee Yong
Founder / Head of School/ Economics Teacher
Academic excellence is what Heads Up is known for, but we know that there is more to school life than just a string of A's. Starting 2020, Financial Literacy will be embedded into Heads Up’s curriculum to mould not only academically, but financially savvy students. Study tours and industrial visits help our young people comprehend the theoretical model taught in the classroom and its real world application. Participation in extra-curricular activities, such as Public Speaking and Coding, provides yet another platform for our students to develop life skills essential to becoming confident individuals facing the challenges of the 21st century.
Ms Fung Li-Cheng
Deputy Head of School / English Language Teacher
After graduating with a Bachelor of Economics, I was challenged to consider teaching because I was told that it is a profession that can bring lasting impact in the lives of young people. That piece of advice resonated with me and I went on to pursue a Diploma in Education in Melbourne University.

Ms. Jaya Pushani
English Language Teacher
My basic philosophy is that if a student takes the trouble to come to school; then it is our responsibility to teach. I don’t believe that success depends on grades.
A Good teacher is to be work hard, prepare for every lesson, give feedback; update on knowledge and current practices; be committed; be interesting in the classroom; be interested in each and every student; encourage critical and creative thinking; do not be judgemental.
Ms. Chin Fui Leng
Chemistry Teacher
Mr. Peter Yong
